If the Crown fits...
Crown Brands Limited now benefit from Demys' Annual Management services such that the maintenance, renewal, compliance and other administrative matters are dealt with by Demys, freeing up Crown personnel to focus on their core roles.
Commenting on the appointment, David Dugdale, Crown's Regional IT Manager UK & Eire, said "It was so refreshing to come across such a professional organisation. In the middle of such a significant deal it is always possible to miss the detail however insofar as our domains are valuable assets and the on-line representation of our brands, engaging Demys to ensure their smooth transfer proved invaluable."
Crown Paints is the UK's largest independent paint manufacturer. From its head office in Darwen, Lancashire, it employs 1,500 people and has factories in Darwen and Hull.
Bowled over across the Channel
In the face of valiant opposition, the Scots had to fight all the way, but theirs was ultimately a successful defence and one which owed much to a terrific opening burst from pace man James Hearn.
For James to be mentioned in dispatches (the above being an extract from the Cricket Europe’s website) is extremely gratifying for us, his sponsors, and as the season draws to a close his, and the team's, achievements will provide the necessary impetus for winter nets and the inspiration to emerge next summer stronger and more vitalised by this significant achievement.
Scotland aim for Six in South Africa
Together with the Under 21 Squad, our young player will leave for warmer climes on 20th March for a two week tour when he and his fellow team mates will play many of South Africa’s finest young cricketers.
As you can imagine, and as his sponsors, we are delighted with the progress he has made and to achieve a Scotland cap so young is indeed commendable.
Fresh choice for Morrisons
Demys is pleased to announce that Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC http://www.morrisons.co.uk has chosen its Internet Intellectual Property Management service.
From market stall in Victorian times to the UK's fourth largest supermarket group in the 21st century (following the recent takeover of Safeway), Morrisons has a long and illustrious history. There are currently more than 380 Morrisons stores across the country, welcoming around 9 million shoppers each week. The company employs more than 114,000 members of staff in stores, factories, distribution centres and head office administrative functions.
As a leading British retailer, Morrisons also has a significant Internet service and Demys will be supporting the domain name component of the company's brands and the gateways to all of their Internet resources.
Catherine Kelly, Website Manager at Morrisons said "We are very happy to be working with Demys on Internet IP matters and to be able to call upon their expertise in this increasingly complex area.".
British Library chooses Demys
Demys is pleased to announce that the British Library has chosen its Internet Intellectual Property Management Service following a competitive tender process.
The British Library http://www.bl.uk, the national library of the United Kingdom, is one of the world's greatest. Its treasures range from the Magna Carta to Beatles manuscripts.
The web has opened up the British Library's collection to a huge international audience and the growth in usage of its web resources averages 25 per cent each year. Naturally the British Library's domain names are the principal gateway to these key services and its choice of Demys recognises its requirement to secure and protect its Internet intellectual property.
Andy MacCalman, Web Operations Manager at the British Library, said "We're glad to be able to appoint Demys to manage our domain name portfolio. Using their expertise for this important but time consuming task will enable us to focus our own attention to developing new and better services for the Library's users on the web".
Sponsorship deal
OK, he’s not got Freddy Flintoff’s profile just yet but Demys’ decision to sponsor a young cricketer would already seem to be paying dividends. James Hearn has been playing cricket for multiple Edinburgh sides including The Grange and Boroughmuir Firsts as well as representing his school, Stewart’s Melville College; for a number of years. And this year, he has been selected to play for the East of Scotland Under 14s Squad. We are delighted for him and hope that this season will see his game develop and Demys’ profile rise among cricketing aficionados on grounds around the country.
