Demys are delighted to announce that they have been appointed by STV Group plc to manage their domain name portfolio.
STV Group plc is Scotland’s digital media company and pre-eminent media brand, incorporating broadcaster STV; production companies STV Productions and Ginger Productions; and digital businesses including STV Jobs and website, www.stv.tv.
STV reaches 4.2 million people every month and is Scotland’s most popular peak time TV station. STV’s content team produces a range of material for STV; and delivers commissions for key broadcasters such as Taggart for ITV1 and UKTV and Antiques Road Trip for BBC2. stv.tv is the most popular commercial website in Scotland, with continued growth in traffic.
STV’s digital channels attract over 1.9 million unique users per month. STV’s website – stv.tv – is home to the STV Player and comprehensive news, sport and entertainment services.
Given the diversity of their activities, it is not surprising that STV take their intellectual property extremely seriously and appointing Demys to provide reliable, on-line husbandry is a reflection of this approach.
Commenting on the appointment, an STV spokesperson said “Prior to appointing Demys, we self managed our domain name portfolio via several on-line panels. This was time consuming and labour intensive.
“Demys however are now in place to manage the administrative side of domain name management and to effect our technical updates as and when required even if this necessitates their team being on hand outside working hours or even over the weekend.
“Of equal importance was Demys’ ability to render one annual fee rather than the myriad charges we have been incurring thus far. The improvement in cost transparency is significant”.
Demys director, Penny Hearn, went on to say “Given the iconic nature of STV’s brands and their importance to the Scottish economy we are delighted that we have been contracted to support them in the protection of their on line intellectual property”.
