As Christmas approaches and 2016 beckons, it’s time to reflect on the past twelve months as well as focus on the year ahead.
Much has happened at Demys not least the promotion of Graeme McGregor to the position of Delivery Team Manager and the appointment of David Krizanic to the post of Chief Technology Officer. David joins us from Famous Four Media and is already making a positive contribution to our systems both internally and for the benefit of clients.
The business is also expanding in other areas and a major office refit has been undertaken to accommodate new personnel that either have joined or will be joining us in the coming months.
This growth is encouraging however we remain committed to the same values that have sustained us over the last 15 years – professionalism, client care and superior technical expertise; and it has been our pleasure to continue to be of service and indeed, as I have often intimated in the past, we remain hugely appreciative of your business.
The domain name space is ever evolving not least with the advent of all the new top level domains. To date, 802 have been delegated and, as was the case this time last year, .xyz continues to top the leader board with 1.6m registrations. .top has replaced .berlin in second place with just under 1m registrations. The noise in the industry is that ICANN will open a second round of applications for further new names but the chances of that happening much before 2017 are remote!
As you know we have for some years elected not to send Christmas gifts, rather choosing to make a donation to a worthwhile cause which better reflects the message of Christmas. This year, our chosen charity is Bloodwise (the new name for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research), bloodwise.org.uk – which is the UK’s largest blood cancer charity.
We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, a Peaceful New Year and health and prosperity in 2016.
